Born out west in the city of sin
Never knew what the future held for him
Growing up he was completely zen
But forced to move away and leave his friends
Now in the south things would start to change
People would stare and label him strange
He battles with, the ones who lie
He stands above, all the men who would never try
He played with flame, when darkness fell
Invincible, to everyone who gave him hell
Gentlemen soon felt truly alone
Often he would wander and think of home
Late one night he decided to walk
Swing set caught his eye in the park
And near midnight he chose to bail
As a pig's eye snatched the black male
He battles with, the ones who lie
He stands above, all the men who would never try
He played with flame, when darkness fell
Invincible, to everyone who gave him hell
When he was spotted the blue lights flashed
That innocent night had suddenly crashed
Officer ordered that the young man should
Walk over and put his hands on the hood
Backup arrived and searched him again
Bigotry prevailed in the end
He battles with, the ones who lie
He stands above, all the men who would never try
He played with flame, when darkness fell
Invincible, to everyone who gave him hell
